Pagans, or those who don't follow a Path that is considered "typical"?

Do any of you have groups that meet for social purposes, but that focuses on spiritual growth and development? I grew up in the Christian church, and it always seemed to me that the idea of "church" was more social than spiritual. A meeting place for those who share similar beliefs. I have been attending a Unitarian Universalist congregation, where I meet with Christians, Pagans, Bhuddists, and others. It's great, and I have gained much by attending, but I'm wondering if anyone has ever started a "church", "congregation", or "discussion group", in real life, dedicated to your individual Path?
